Residents of Delhi-NCR have received another blow from rising fuel prices as Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) has once again increased the price of CNG. The revised rates came into effect from 6 AM on Sunday.

According to reports, CNG prices have been increased by ₹1 per kilogram. Just two days earlier, prices had already been raised by ₹2 per kilogram, taking the total increase to ₹3 per kilogram within 48 hours.

Following the latest revision, the price of CNG in Delhi has crossed ₹80 per kilogram. Rates have also gone up in several NCR regions, including Noida, Ghaziabad, and Gurugram.

Experts believe that rising international gas prices and increasing import costs are the major reasons behind the hike. Continuous increases in fuel prices may directly impact household budgets and transportation expenses.

The biggest impact is expected to be on auto-rickshaw and taxi drivers, whose operating costs are likely to rise. Public transportation expenses may also increase as a result of higher fuel prices.
