The 12th International Yoga Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm across India and around the world on June 21, 2026. Millions of people participated in mass yoga sessions, spreading the message of health, inner peace, and holistic well-being.

This year's theme, “Yoga for Healthy Aging,” aims to encourage people to maintain physical fitness, mental strength, and an active lifestyle as they age.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the main event in Kolkata, West Bengal, where he described yoga as India's ancient heritage and a powerful tool for promoting global health. Schools, colleges, government institutions, and social organizations across the country also organized yoga camps and awareness programs.

The United Nations declared June 21 as International Yoga Day in 2014, and since then, it has been observed annually to raise awareness about the physical, mental, and spiritual benefits of yoga. Today, Yoga Day is celebrated in more than 190 countries, contributing significantly to the global recognition of Indian culture and traditions.

Experts believe that regular yoga practice helps reduce stress, improve immunity, and promote a healthier lifestyle. On the occasion, many people pledged to make yoga an integral part of their daily routine.
