A grand spiritual and cultural event, ‘Shankaravataranam: Ekatma Parva 2026’, was आयोजित in the sacred town of Omkareshwar, Madhya Pradesh, celebrating the life and teachings of Adi Shankaracharya. The program brought together saints, scholars, and devotees from across the country.
The event began with Vedic chants and invocations, creating a deeply devotional atmosphere. Organizers explained the significance of Shankaracharya’s birth anniversary, observed on Vaishakh Shukla Panchami, and the purpose of celebrating the Shankar Prakatotsav.
Speakers at the event emphasized the core principles of Advaita Vedanta, highlighting the idea of oneness of existence and the importance of fulfilling one’s duties toward society and nature. A strong message of environmental responsibility was also delivered, encouraging the protection of the five elements—earth, water, fire, air, and space—as part of spiritual practice.
The program included several traditional rituals such as lamp lighting, pushpanjali, and Vedic swasti recitations. Senior acharyas and scholars were felicitated, adding to the dignity of the occasion.
One of the key highlights was the presence and felicitation of Swami Avadheshanand Giri, along with discussions on Adi Shankaracharya’s spiritual journey and his association with Omkareshwar.
The event was not only a religious gathering but also a platform to spread the message of unity, duty, and harmony with nature, reflecting the timeless relevance of Shankaracharya’s teachings.
