Mohan Bhagwat’s Big Statement on Gen Z: Says It Is Important to Listen to Young People; Education System Needs Reform

Mumbai: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat has made an important remark about Gen Z and the youth of the country. During an interaction with Gen Z and Gen Alpha students in Mumbai, he said that it is important to engage in dialogue with the younger generation in order to understand them. He also stressed the need to address shortcomings in the education system.

Bhagwat said that the questions and grievances being raised by young people should be taken seriously. He rejected the idea of viewing student protests directly from an anti-national perspective. According to him, expressing one's views and registering protest are part of the democratic system, but it is important to move towards solutions and consensus through dialogue.

‘It Is Not Right to Consider Young People Anti-National’

In the context of student movements, the RSS chief said that merely protesting against the government or the system does not make a young person anti-national. He stressed the need to understand the views and concerns of young people.

His message was that instead of giving instructions to the younger generation, the path of dialogue should be adopted. Listening to young people’s questions and understanding the real issues behind them can be an important step towards finding solutions.

Emphasis on Reforming the Education System

Mohan Bhagwat also expressed concern about the education system. He acknowledged that some of the issues raised by students are genuine and that reforms are needed in the education sector. In such cases, instead of simply trying to stop protests, emphasis should be placed on understanding the reasons behind the problems and finding solutions.

Interaction with Gen Z and Gen Alpha

Around 2,000 young people from Gen Z and Gen Alpha participated in the interaction held in Mumbai. The objective of the programme was to discuss the views and questions of young people, as well as their vision for the future of the country.

Bhagwat’s interaction comes at a time when the increasing involvement of young people in issues related to education and students is being widely discussed across the country. In this context, the direct interaction with Gen Z is being seen as an important initiative by the RSS to connect with the younger generation.

Protest and Dialogue Both Important in a Democracy

Bhagwat described protest as a part of the democratic process and dialogue as a means of finding solutions. He indicated that instead of viewing the dissatisfaction of young people merely as opposition, the questions and problems behind their concerns should also be discussed.
