5 July 2026 Australia achieved a historic milestone by defeating England by seven wickets in the final of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026, held at the iconic Lord's Cricket Ground in London on 5 July 2026. With this victory, Australia became Women's T20 World Cup champions for a record seventh time, once again proving their dominance in the shortest format of the game.

Batting first, England posted 150/4 in their allotted 20 overs. Captain Nat Sciver-Brunt played a superb unbeaten knock of 58 runs, while Freya Kemp added an unbeaten 44 to guide the team to a competitive total. However, Australia's disciplined bowling attack kept England from posting a bigger score.

Chasing 151, Australia made a cautious start before Beth Mooney (64) and Phoebe Litchfield (48) produced a brilliant partnership that completely shifted the momentum of the match. Their attacking approach put England's bowlers under pressure and brought Australia within touching distance of victory. Ellyse Perry then hit the winning runs with 17 balls to spare, sealing the title for Australia.

Beth Mooney was named Player of the Match for her outstanding innings and also received the Player of the Tournament award for her exceptional performances throughout the competition. Australia remained unbeaten during the tournament and created history by lifting their record seventh ICC Women's T20 World Cup trophy.
