Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Indonesia proved to be a significant step in taking bilateral relations between India and Indonesia to new heights. During his two-day official visit, Prime Minister Modi held summit talks with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto. The two leaders agreed to enhance cooperation in several key sectors, including trade, defence, maritime security, artificial intelligence (AI), digital payments, education, and critical minerals.

During the meeting, important steps were taken to strengthen defence cooperation between the two countries. An agreement was also reached regarding India's supply of the BrahMos supersonic missile and other defence systems to Indonesia, a move expected to further reinforce the strategic partnership between the two nations in the Indo-Pacific region.

Prime Minister Modi stated that the relationship between India and Indonesia is founded on a shared cultural heritage, democratic values, and mutual trust. He described the visit as the beginning of a "golden chapter" in bilateral ties. Both leaders also emphasized expanding trade, promoting digital connectivity, and creating new opportunities for cooperation in education and innovation.
