During the Prime Minister's proposed visit to Tokyo from July 1 to 3, 2026, the 16th India-Japan Annual Summit is being held. The key objective of this important summit is to take the strategic and economic partnership between the two countries to new heights.
The summit will feature comprehensive discussions between the top leadership of both nations on regional and global issues. Particular emphasis will be placed on strengthening economic and energy security through new agreements and partnerships. In the evolving global landscape, ensuring secure and resilient supply chains will also remain a major priority.
During the meeting, special focus will be given to expanding cooperation in semiconductor manufacturing, artificial intelligence (AI), digital technology, defence collaboration, clean energy, and advanced manufacturing. Both countries may take significant decisions to deepen partnerships in technological innovation, investment, and defence production.
The summit is expected to further strengthen the India-Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership while playing an important role in promoting peace, stability, and economic growth across the Indo-Pacific region.
