India has achieved a significant milestone in the field of semiconductor manufacturing. Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw, announced that semiconductor chips manufactured at the CG Semi plant in Sanand, Gujarat, will be exported to major global markets, including Japan, the United States, and Europe. This is considered a major step toward securing India's position in the global semiconductor supply chain.

According to the government, the project will not be limited to meeting domestic demand but will also establish India as an exporter of high-tech products. Experts believe that the expansion of the semiconductor industry will attract substantial investments, generate new employment opportunities, and provide fresh momentum to the country's electronics manufacturing sector.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also described this achievement as an important milestone for the Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India) initiatives. He said that India is no longer just a consumer of electronic products but is rapidly progressing toward becoming a global hub for the manufacturing and export of advanced technology.

According to the government, several semiconductor manufacturing plants across the country are expected to become fully operational by the end of 2026. This is expected to strengthen India's global competitiveness and significantly increase the country's electronics exports.
