A delegation of artisans and weavers from India’s northeastern states met President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan. During the interaction, the President appreciated their craftsmanship, dedication, and contribution to preserving India’s cultural heritage.
These artisans and weavers played an important role in preparing special invitation kits for various national events. Their traditional handicrafts and weaving techniques beautifully reflected the rich cultural identity of Northeast India.
President Murmu stated that the art and handicrafts of the northeastern region strengthen India’s cultural identity and diversity. Encouraging the artisans, she said that their talent is gaining recognition not only across India but also at the international level.
During the meeting, the artisans also shared experiences related to their traditional art forms, weaving methods, and cultural heritage. The interaction at Rashtrapati Bhavan is being viewed as an important step toward giving national recognition and respect to the art and culture of the northeastern states.
